I am very excited to announce the launch of my new makerspace radio show on the BAM Radio Network!  BAM Radio is the largest education radio network in the world offering programming from the nation's top education organizations and thought leaders and reaching a wide audience of people passionately committed to quality education.

The show is called WMKR, Movers & Makers.  Embarking on this journey with me, I am lucky enough to have a fabulous co-host in educator, Travis Lape.   Each episode of our show, will focus upon expanding upon the chapters of my makerspace book, allowing for readers/listeners to be immersed further in each topic.

Show topics will include:

The Maker Movement
Planning Your Makerspace
Setting Up Your Makerspace
Creating a Maker Culture in Your School
Makerspaces and the Standards
The ‘Expert’ Maker
Makerspaces and the School Library
Makerspace as a Unique Learning Environment
Showcasing Student Creations
Makerspaces as Catalysts for Future Change
School Leaders Role in the Maker Movement/Makerspaces

As of today, our first two shows have launched.  The topic of the first show is the Maker Movement and the show is called Helping Students Learn with the Head, the Heart and the Hand.  Our first guest was the gracious, Sylvia Martinez. In this episode, Sylvia says that the Maker Movement is neither something old or something new, but rather it represents a fresh opportunity to help kids learn in compelling and real-world ways.  Be sure to tune in to hear perspective on the Maker Movement.

Our second show is with Dale Dougherty, the founder of Make Magazine, Maker Faire, and who helped launch the Maker Movement.  In this show, 5 Great Tips from the Makerspace Playbook, Dale shares some inside tips for planning and managing a makerspace.

In our third show, Makerspace Mysteries, our guest, Scott Witthoft, shares his insights on how to get over some of the challenges makerspaces presents for teachers and students.

Our fourth show, Makerspaces Gone Wild,  is with the brilliant Jay Silver, of Makey-Makey fame, who will just blow your mind and push your thinking and your vision of what makerspaces and makers are all about.

Subscribe to our show on iTunes to stay up to date with all new show releases.  We have some more fabulous guests coming up!

In conjunction with the launch of this show, I have created an opportunity for educators who tune into our show, or others on the BAM Radio Network, to earn a digital badge for tuning into their Summer Learning Series.
